AEON
2023-2025
The AEON series is an ongoing dialogue with soil, time, and the elemental forces that shape our shared ground.
Each canvas is placed directly in the earth, buried, exposed to rain, air, minerals, and living spores, so that the work becomes a living index of the landscape.
Developed over months and years, the surfaces register traces of extraction, abandonment, lack of care, neglect: from a former bauxite quarry in Southern Italy to a London garden marked by wartime and domestic debris. Iron oxides, fungal spores, atmospheric sediments, and unseen micro-organisms collaborate as co-authors, imprinting their own rhythms and chemistries onto the fibres.
In this slow process, soil is revealed as an active, sensuous presence, an archive of histories and a participant in futures. AEON becomes a threshold where human and more-than-human forces meet, holding time in material form and asking what it means to listen, to wait, and to let the ground speak back.
